Yoga Nidra: The Gateway to Deep Rest and Relaxation

Yoga Nidra has come to be known as the yoga of sleep or yogic sleep.  It is usually undertaken in Savasana or a simple resting pose.  It can be practiced by anyone, and is a supportive and nurturing practice that holds immense benefits for anyone who struggles with a lack of quality sleep, burn-out, anxiety, and/or trauma.  The practice of Yoga Nidra allows one to experience the immense power of deep rest and surrender while awakening the mind to our essential nature; permitting us to seek clarity, a connection to our inner knowing, a deeper sense of peace, and our purpose in this life.  Yoga Nidra is the ultimate practice of non-doing.  It has been claimed that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equal to 3 hours of sleep..

Grief Yoga©: Embracing Healing Through Movement

Grief Yoga© is a practice that uses movement, breath, and sound to help students release struggle and invite space for new insight, harmony, appreciation, love, and forgiveness to process the grief that follows any type of loss.  This yoga practice isn’t about physical flexibility, but it is about emotional liberation.  It utilizes some common yoga postures as well as poses specifically designed to release emotions.  No yoga experience is necessary.  This transformative movement practice can be done from a chair, seated on a mat, or standing; all bodies are welcome and will benefit from this practice.  Classes are available for groups, families, or individuals.  Ask about online options.

Juanita has been certified in grief movement and holds a 100 hour Grief Yoga© certification.

Vibroacoustic Therapy: Harmonize Your Body and Mind with Sound

Vibroacoustic therapy or sound bowl therapy works by using sound vibrations to stimulate the body and promote relaxation, which can help alleviate symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, stress, pain and many other types of conditions.  Research dating back to the 1960’s has linked sound therapy to helping people achieve good health.  One of the most well-known benefits of sound is its ability to calm and relax the mind and body.  Sessions are 90 minutes long and conducted in a private setting.  Singing bowls will be placed at specific points on your body to allow for maximum absorption of sound.

In general,
vibroacoustic therapy is considered safe for most people.  However, as with any therapy, some precautions should be taken,  It is important to discuss any health concerns or conditions with a healthcare provider before starting vibroacoustic therapy.  Additionally, pregnant women, individuals with pacemakers, and those with certain medical conditions may need to avoid vibroacoustic therapy.
